Our psychologists combine many years of experience providing specialist psychological services.  Each member of the team has specific interests and expertise that enable us to provide a more personalised service and meet a wide range of different client needs.

Claire Trevitt
B.Sc. (Hons) Psych; Dip C.H; Assoc MAPS
Claire has provided psychological services in a variety of clinical and organisational settings for the past 10 years. She is an experienced and empathic therapist with a particular interest in early development and the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. An approved counsellor with the Victims Compensation Tribunal, Claire has extensive experience assisting individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including sexual assault, domestic violence and physical and/or emotional abuse. She also has an interest in working with the GLBT community in Sydney, having spent time at ACON as an individual and group therapist.

Claire's philosophy is to provide each of her clients with a comprehensive and holistic service by building a caring and supportive relationship and empowering individual growth. She aims to address underlying problems through increased understanding and clarity of the issues at hand, seeking to not only to address the presenting problems, but also to provide her clients with skills, coping strategies and preventative techniques so they feel more equipped to deal with life's challenges.

Claire's training and background also includes assessment and intervention for children struggling in the educational system, as well as providing support and guidance to families regarding performance and behavioural issues. She is experienced in conducting psychometric assessments with children and adolescents for clinical and educational purposes and is frequently contacted by schools or families to provide these services.

Claire is an educator at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. She is also an authorised supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia and supervises interns who are completing their psychologist registration. Committed to both personal and professional development, she is currently completing specialist psychotherapy training and regularly attends conferences and workshops to keep abreast of the latest interventions and techniques.

Claire is currently on maternity leave and unable to take new referrals until January 2012.

Kim Eisler
B.S.W; M.A. Psych; Assoc MAPS
Kim has 20 years experience working with individuals and families in a range of settings. She has worked extensively with individuals with mental illness, particularly young people with co-morbid drug and alcohol issues. As an experienced family counsellor Kim has a comprehensive knowledge of child development, parenting and mothercraft concerns. She has a comprehensive understanding of post-natal depression and developed various educational and support groups for parents. She is an experienced diagnostician, conducting regular assessments and formulating clinical case plans.

Kim is currently working full time in her private practice where she provides therapy and counselling for individuals and families. She is involved in the development of a number of group programs to assist children build their social and personal skills. Kim is both a group supervisor and principal supervisor for a number of interns who are gaining their registration as psychologists. She is also regularly employed as an educator for counsellors at the Australian College of Applied Psychology.

Kim considers it essential to treat individuals in a holistic manner with a view to understanding the cause of problems rather than simply addressing their symptoms. She is committed to providing individuals with knowledge and strategies so that they have the skills to maintain their mental health and continue their personal development. Kim is happy to use a range of therapeutic interventions and include complimentary treatments to improve client health. Kim continues her ongoing professional training and development.


Mary Hoang
B. Psych. (Hons); Grad Cert Psych Prac; Assoc MAPS
Mary is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher. She is experienced in the treatment of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, anger management, addictions and stress-related disorders.  

Mary has worked extensively with adolescents and young adults, guiding them through the transitions and changes of these years.  She is committed to working with disadvantaged communities and has been involved with homeless youths at the Salvation Army's OASIS Youth Support Network, and other charitable organisations. 

Mary's approach to therapy is based on the individual client's needs.  She practices a combination of traditional Western Counselling and Mind-Body approaches based on the wisdom insights of Eastern Mindfulness.  She believes in living life consciously and cultivating acceptance.  Her approach provides practical solutions for a wide variety of psycho-emotional issues, physiological illnesses, as well as strategic personal/professional life enhancement and management.  

Mary understands that psychological and physical illnesses need to be looked at holistically, and her treatment plans include factors such as dietary needs, nutrition, environment and lifestyle. Her philosophy is to use research-based scientifically proven methods to soothe and heal the body, mind and spirit; leading to an improved quality of life and better relationships.  Mary's primary goal is to cultivate a respectful, non-judgemental and trusting client-practitioner relationship.
